Consultant in Information Technology (IT)
Essential Qualification:
The Specialist with basic qualification as degree in Computer Science/ Mathematics or Statistics with PG Diploma in Computer Application. The Specialist needs to have demonstrable competencies in the following areas:
Minimum 3 years experience in:
- Practical working experience with LAN/WAN and programmingdatabase systems, designing internet-based distribution networks, and designing and developing websites.
- Ability to build capacity and train various stakeholders
- Sound knowledge in the government procedure on procurement of IT related equipments and services.
- Experience in handling the computer networks in large organisations with the trouble shooting experience on various hardware/software components.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English & Malayalam
Contract
The contract is for a period of one year, with a consolidated pay of Rs 20,000 pm.
Competence
The principal objective of the assignment is to strengthen the information and technology of KILA to improve the internal monitoring systems and thereby improve the capacity building of the local bodies. It is envisaged that the Specialist will have:
- To address the capacity building needs of the local bodies.
- Good knowledge in e-governance and procedures of local bodies;
- Good and demonstrated capacity for organization, management with excellent reporting and coordination skills is required;
- Good leadership, technical competence and professional skills will be required for timely implementation, coordination and management of activities;
Ability to work in a team, develop synergies and establish effective working relations with various stakeholders; - Good interpersonal and communications skills, resourcefulness, initiative, tact and ability to cope with any situation;
- He/she should be able to effectively communicate internally and externally, share information with the director, colleagues and local bodies.
- Able to work effectively with a range of government agencies, development partners (including donors, multilateral agencies and non-government agencies).
- A strong record of working across organizational boundaries is required.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently, results oriented and focused. Can handle multiple tasks effectively and coordinate to meet deadlines; ability to manage uncertainty and adjust to a changing work program.
- Openness to change and ability to receive/integrate feedback;
- Ability to work under pressure and stressful situations and manage heavy workloads.
